Tryouts
Tryouts for the Short Course 2026–2027 season have concluded. Tryouts for Long Course will be posted in March 2027.
Tryouts are held twice a year, before each season. They are free, by appointment only, and the first week of club practice is free too.
Book a time slot
Tryouts run by appointment. Pick a slot when sign-ups open, and fill out a short liability form when you arrive.
Swim for the coaches
Swimmers swim about 25 yards of each stroke while parents wait in the lobby or bleachers. Water time is only a few minutes.
Get a group recommendation
After a short deliberation, every swimmer is emailed a group recommendation and the next steps.
Trial week
Swimmers who make the team get a trial week to make sure it's a good fit before any financial obligation.
What to bring
A swimsuit (any kind; wear it when you arrive), goggles (smaller is better than a scuba mask) and a towel.
What the coaches look for
A basic knowledge of all four strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly. Speed and endurance matter for experienced swimmers, but good technique matters most.
